Ethics and independence

1. Conflicts of interest: every story touching the Historic Preservation Commission, the 2026 council race or its candidates, or any person or business the owner has a tie to carries a disclosure at the top.
2. Recusal: while the owner chairs the Historic Preservation Commission, she does not write or edit its coverage.
3. No campaigning: no endorsements and no political advertising. If the owner runs for office again, political coverage is paused or handed off from qualifying through Election Day.
4. Sponsors: sponsors have no say over coverage. Sponsored content is labeled.
5. Sourcing: we link primary documents, label opinion, and offer a right of reply before critical stories.
6. Tools: we may use software, including AI, for research and drafting. A person verifies every fact before publication.
