Coweta County’s Board of Elections and Registration will meet Monday, Nov. 9, at 10 a.m. ET to certify results from the Nov. 3 general and special election, according to the county’s posted notice. The meeting will take place at 87 Newnan Station Drive in Newnan.

The board has also scheduled a mandatory risk-limiting audit beginning Thursday, Nov. 12, at 1 p.m. ET in the Shenandoah Training Room, Suite 500, at the same address. The audit will cover races designated by the Georgia Secretary of State, the county notice says.

The public and press may observe the audit. Only people designated by the election superintendent or an authorized deputy may touch ballots or ballot containers. The superintendent may establish a viewing area to maintain order and protect the audit’s integrity.

The county’s election-night posting table lists 856 in-person Election Day ballots for the Grantville precinct, along with 527 advance in-person ballots and 49 absentee-by-mail ballots. It lists no provisional ballots issued at that precinct’s poll and no ballots left unscanned there. Those figures describe ballot counts by voting method, not votes received by individual candidates.

The county elections office can be reached at 770-254-2615.
