Newnan High seniors will receive college-application help Friday, Nov. 13, while Smokey Road Middle holds Veterans Day programs Tuesday during a Nov. 9–13 week with no districtwide holiday or early-release day listed on Coweta County’s published calendar.

The week’s calendar covers Glanton Elementary, Smokey Road Middle and Newnan High, schools serving Grantville students. Veterans Day falls Wednesday, Nov. 11, but it is not marked as a school holiday on the district’s 2026–27 calendar. Thanksgiving break begins Monday, Nov. 23, and continues through Friday, Nov. 27.

At Newnan High, Apply to College Day runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. ET in the Media Center on Nov. 13. The school’s Nov. 6 announcements say seniors must sign up, attend during their scheduled block and bring a charged Chromebook. Counselors and representatives from Columbus State, Georgia Southern, Georgia State, West Georgia and West Georgia Technical College are scheduled to assist.

The same announcements set a Dec. 4 deadline for juniors and seniors applying for spring-semester Work-Based Learning. Newnan High also says it has moved school communications to ParentSquare.

Smokey Road Middle’s official calendar lists a Veterans Day assembly and an Advanced Bands performance Tuesday, Nov. 10, at 9 a.m. ET. Its PTO Spirit Night at Truett’s Chick-fil-A, 505 GA-34 in Newnan, is scheduled Thursday, Nov. 12, from 5 to 9 p.m. ET.

The middle school’s calendar also lists football semifinals Wednesday, Nov. 11, at 4:15 p.m. ET at the higher-seeded teams’ fields. That entry describes the semifinal schedule, not confirmation that Smokey Road has qualified or that a game will be played on its campus.

At Glanton Elementary, the school continues to post information about its 4-H aluminum pop-tab collection for Ronald McDonald House Charities and Backpack Buddies weekend food support. The 4-H notice says tabs sent to school are turned in at the monthly fifth-grade meeting; it does not give a new Nov. 9–13 collection deadline.

Monday’s SchoolCafé lunch menus list broccoli-and-cheese soup and a manager’s-special entree at all three schools, with different pizza choices: pepperoni at Glanton, stuffed-crust cheese at Smokey Road and four-cheese at Newnan High. Published sides include a roll, carrots and celery with dip, vegetarian baked beans, a Granny Smith apple, milk and fruit juice. The district directs families to SchoolCafé for menus; the Ledger’s school tabs link to that source and display the menu for the current school day.

The Coweta County Board of Education’s district calendar also lists its monthly meeting Tuesday, Nov. 10, at 6:30 p.m. ET at 167 Werz Industrial Drive in Newnan.
