Grantville posts Nov. 9 council work session agenda: Local Color alcohol license, Bohannon range, Georgia Power easement
The City of Grantville posted the Monday, Nov. 9, 2026, 6:30 p.m. City Council work session agenda on its meetings calendar (packet filename stamped Nov. 5). The session is at Council Chambers, Glanton Municipal Complex, 123 LaGrange Street. Work sessions are for discussion; formal votes typically come at a later regular or special called meeting.
The city’s earlier Ledger preview noted that no agenda had been posted when that brief was written. The packet now lists three discussion items.
Local Color alcohol license (hearing Dec. 21)
Council will discuss an alcohol license application by Ignacio Alvarez for on-premises consumption of malt beverages and wine at Local Color, 16B Main Street, Grantville. The agenda says a public hearing on the application is set for Monday, Dec. 21, 2026.
The packet includes alcohol-license application materials naming Alvarez. The Ledger is not reprinting personal identifying details from those forms.
Local Color’s Present Tense exhibition opens Nov. 12 at the same Main Street suite; see the Ledger’s exhibition story.
Bohannon Road outdoor shooting range (hearing Nov. 16)
The work session will also discuss the special-use application by J&J Trail & Target, doing business as Lock, Stock & Barrel Outdoors, for an outdoor shooting range at 514 Bohannon Road. The agenda notes the related public hearing is Monday, Nov. 16, at 6:30 p.m. or thereafter.
Planning Commission recommended denial on Oct. 20. Background: Nov. 16 hearing story.
Georgia Power grid easement at 225 Colley St.
Council will discuss approval for the mayor to sign a Georgia Power grid easement on city property tax ID G03 0010 002, described as 225 Colley St., Grantville. Packet materials include a Georgia Power combination easement (project 2026090192, Hogansville distribution line) and a Nov. 3, 2026, offer letter proposing $1,000 compensation for the easement, with notes on poles, conductor and possible tree work.
