Grantville GA schools: Glanton Elementary, school zones and Thanksgiving break Nov. 23–27

By The Grantville Ledger · Nov 4, 2026 · Updated Nov 4, 2026

Grantville doesn’t run its own schools. Children who live in the city attend Coweta County School System schools, and the district’s Thanksgiving break runs Monday, Nov. 23, through Friday, Nov. 27.

Coweta County schools Thanksgiving break, Nov. 23–27, and the rest of the semester

From the district’s 2026–27 calendar, which the Board of Education approved Nov. 12, 2024:

DateWhat happens
Nov. 23–27Thanksgiving break, no school
Dec. 18Students’ last day of the first semester
Dec. 21–Jan. 1Christmas and winter break
Jan. 4Teacher work day, no school for students
Jan. 5First day of the second semester

The calendar lists March 18 and 19 as teacher work days that can be used as inclement-weather make-up days if needed.

Looking for something to do with the kids over the break? The Grantville Branch Library has a Dino Snow Globe craft for ages 8 and up on Wednesday, Nov. 25.

Which schools serve Grantville: Glanton, Moreland, Smokey Road Middle and Newnan High

The Ledger compared Grantville’s city limits with Coweta County’s official GIS attendance-zone maps. Here’s what they show:

LevelSchoolWhat the county maps show
ElementaryGlanton ElementaryCovers most of the city, about 84% of the land inside city limits
ElementaryMoreland ElementaryCovers the rest of the city, about 16% of the land
MiddleSmokey Road MiddleThe whole city
HighNewnan HighThe whole city

The percentages are the Ledger’s calculation of land area, not of students or homes. Zones can change, and the county’s maps aren’t the final word for any one address. To confirm your child’s school, call the Coweta County School System at 770-254-2800 or the school.
